The Longbox Chronicles: Family Dynamic #1-3

Cover to issue #3

Last night, I sat down to read DC’s three-issue mini series, Family Dynamic. I’d seen character designs on the net long before the first issue was ever published, and I remember them being fun and interesting costume designs, especially for such a run-down concept as the modern super hero.

While Tim Levins art never disappoints, J.Torres’ story comes to an abrupt end. It makes me wonder if this was supposed to be something longer than three issues, but ultimately three is all they had to work with. If the cover says “3 of 3,” then that book better have some sort of conclusion. Unfortunately, this one didn’t.

A handful of characters and respective subplots are introduced in this series, but never get resolved.

I hope DC will allow this book to continue in some form or another, because it deserves a chance to be an all ages comic that parents can share with their kids. Maybe with Boom! Studios upcoming The Incredibles comic, something will get kicked into gear.
