CCI Thursday overview

I’m not going to bother linking to a bunch of news articles. You can find out all of that stuff on your own. Really, Newsarama and CBR do a pretty good job covering the Cons every year.

What I’m going to do is share some of my thoughts and reactions to whatever news bits I found interesting, starting with…

  • Black Beauty! The Green Hornet’s trademark vehicle was revealed on the convention floor and it looks mighty fine. Now, I’m curious to see how the rest of the film turns out.

  • Jonah Hex in 2010 The first teaser poster for the Jonah Hex movie has been hung on display for convention-goers and the generous photographers that are willing to share with us cheap schlubs who can’t go. I like that they’re giving us a glimpse of Jonah’s deformed face from the get-go, and of course, Megan Fox…
  • Vampirella: The Second Coming Poor Vampi. She seems to have such a difficult time finding a steady artist. Apparently, Daniel Sampere was unable to finish the second issue, and Al Rio will be coming on board to finish the mini series, written by Phil Hester, who is no slouch in the art department either.
  • deathlok-1-cover

  • Deathlok Why is there Deathlok art attached to an article about the Marvel Mondo panel when nothing about Deathlok was discussed?

Sure, there were some panels devoted to movie projects like James Cameron’s Avatar, the Astro Boy CGI flick, and the next Twilight (gag!) movie. I wish I could’ve seen the footage for Kick-Ass though. I wonder if that movie will even get released in theatres around here.
