Swedish black metallers MARDUK will release their eleventh album, “Wormwood”, before the end of the year via Regain Records. The CD was recorded at Endarker Studios in Norrköping, Sweden with engineer/producer Magnus Devo Andersson. The album’s release will be followed by a world tour, dubbed “Funeral Nation 2009/2010″, which will kick off in Europe.

I’ve sort of lost track of Marduk over the years. I was never a huge fan, but I started getting into their stuff around Panzer Division Marduk, which was just a non-stop assault of blazing riffs and rapid fire blast beats.

I have heard some of their later tracks and they aren’t bad. i just didn’t find them particularly memorable. Of course, that could just be due to early senility.

I think this cover is one of their better ones. I like the aged looking sepia tone combined with a mummified looking religious figure. Even the placement of the band’s logo and the title is spot-on. I dig it.
