Sure, it’s easy to look at the promotional materials for this movie and judge it as shallow entertainment. Even I had my doubts about it up until the movie began. I hate to say, “It was better than I expected.” What does that even mean when you consider you weren’t expecting much to begin with?
As far as I’m concerned, this film delivered an awesome horror flick with an old-school 1970’s-1980’s sensibility. It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve seen a movie based around a Satanic sacrifice. You get tons of blood ‘n guts, demonic monster effects, and Megan Fox’s sexy swagger. Oh, and if there are any guys that are fans of watching women kiss, there’s a really nice scene of that, too. No, I’m not above succumbing to sex appeal.
I really should’ve written this entry closer to when I saw the movie. I had more commentary in mind at the time, but I’m old and increasingly senile, so all of those thoughts are lost, which is a shame.
Verdict: See it. I really enjoyed this one, and I urge anyone looking to be entertained to give this a shot.
