I am writing this blog entry way later than I should have. My book from Library Binding arrived a couple weeks ago, and I just now got around to snapping a few photos for the blog.
Here are a couple views of the spine. As you can see, I went with a stamp of the older DC logo because I wanted to leave an indication of when the books were published. LBC might want to have a new die made. This one doesn’t seem to have very crisp edges. It’s probably not noticeable in the photos, but some of the edges appear mushy.
This photo shows one of the trimmed edges. I tried to photograph them all, but the others were out of focus, and I’m too lazy to try again. The side edge had a few rough edges, but nothing worth complaining about.
Finally, here’s a photo to show off one of the interior spreads and what little gutter loss there is throughout the book.
Overall, I am very happy with the final product, and I plan to move forward with more binds as money allows. A dust jacket is already in the works. There are a few details I need to iron out on the back panel, and it should be ready for print.
Be on the look out for more posts like these. I may just make it a regular feature.
