Familiar Myths
I've been watching anime a lot more lately than I have been posting about it. As a matter of fact, I just wrapped up two series this week, courtesy of Netflix. So, I'm going to use this as an excuse to post something. Don't worry about spoilers - there isn't much material for me to spoil.

It's nice to see that I am not the only one suffering from the horrors of my own creation (an anime backlog). I think this post tackles the subject well enough...
Two months later…
At the beginning of the year, I made some resolutions. I had intended to write an update at the one month mark, but procrastination took over until the timing was no longer relevant. So, as February comes to an end, I decided to do a two month update instead. Let's see how they're going...

Hajime no Ippo – New Challenger ep.1
Ever experience a series that you liked so much, you were sad to see it end? Fighting Spirit was kind of like that for me. That in itself is amazing since I assumed I wouldn't like it as I put the disc in my player.

12 Days Project, Day 8
I was well aware that sports-themed anime and manga were popular in Japan, but they were something that never appealed to me, especially after I stopped following sports of any kind as I got older. But, a whimsical choice at one of the many Gamestop locations I ransacked for free DVDs (they were running a Buy 2, Get 4 Free promotion) changed all that. As a result fo the promotion, I picked up many DVDs I wouldn't have otherwise tried, figuring free is the best way to gamble on a new series. One of these gambles was the first volume of Fighting Spirit.
